Make sure that the home blood pressure monitor you choose has been “clinically validated” and is listed by the British Hypertension Society (a society of doctors and nurses who have a special interest in high blood pressure, its measurement and treatment). This means that the digital monitor has gone through a series of tests to make sure it gives results that you and your doctor can trust. It means that the monitor has been tested to make sure that it gives accurate and reliable results.
If a monitor is clinically validated and listed by the British Hypertension Society, it means that - regardless of its cost - it will give reliable readings when used correctly.
All blood pressure monitors sold by the Blood Pressure Association are clinically validated and are approved by the British Hypertension Society.
